Help with our living room arrangement PLS!

Hey everyone! I work in beachwood & our power was out all morning. Finally at 12:30 they decided to send us home since we couldnt do anything. We were seriously using a flashlight to go to the bathroom. HAHA. I felt like I had so much to do when I left but I cant manage to get off the couch. =( I also found out yesterday that my grandpa has cancer. =( TEAR! Im not sure what kind or anything. Im going to go see him hopefully tonight. Hes 89yrs old and I love him to death. Ok I cant talk about it or I might start crying again. Keep him in your thoughts. <3

As for home news.. We made some changes. We didnt get the finished basement that I wanted. Seth kinda voted me out on that one. I think we should get it because we wont ever have the money laying around to finish it later. He knows we wont use it so he doesnt want it. I guess I see his point there. Besides they dont finish the "whole" basement. Its really only like 1/2 of it. Kinda crazy. We thought it would come out looking like the model but our sales rep let us know it would only be a certain half. So we did a lot of other little things.

Added:
side entry in garage
crown molding to kitchen cabs
water line for fridge (I thought this was automatic- thank you Inna for letting us know its extra)
flood light for back paito (see the pups at night)
outlet above fireplace (tv)
oversized tub (did u know that when u upgrade the tub size u automatically get a larger hot water tank! also good to know)
master and secondary bath cabs white
pine stair with oak handrail (also didnt know this was an option for a Venice)
and now we have the remainder of the week to finalize everything. We want to upgrade our appliance package because we like the better dishwasher. We need to decide on that. and we also met with guardian and did stuff with him. I would go into details with it but that was Seths area. I do know we got the security alarm prewired for 3 years. Crazy, but I didnt know the "pre-wire" was free. It was all free to install. You only have to sign a 3yr contract for the alarm which will be 45 a month. Few other things, speaker wire outside. Not sure what else. We have our floor meeting this saturday. Its a different flooring company then it was with hidden lakes. Now we have to go re-do all that stuff. I must say I will be happy when I dont have to go to all these meetings anymore. We were with Inna for 4 hrs on saturday. Crazy!

I need some help too! We are officially the only people on our Ryan bubble that put the fireplace in the wall in between the 2 windows. Our model in has the same thing. I need everyones help to place furniture. SOOO lost on where to put things. Here are the pics.

This is where the fireplace will be. Keep in mid the TV will be above it. We would like to see the TV when in here hahahaha. Thats pry why this is sooooo hard.

Inna and I trying to place figure out where I will but everything. We were thinking a sectional on the far wall that also went along where the plant is. However we cant block the hallway.

This is the hallway we cant block. So hard. I have no clue what to do. Other then I want the fireplace in between the 2 windows. HAHAHA.

Ok everyone thanks for the help. Im off to go see Grandpas. <3 Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

  1. *hugs* I understand about grandpa having cancer. We just found out mine has lung cancer. *hugs, hugs, and more hugs*

Love you're choices!! =) Very nice!!

Can you put the sectional on the far wall? Get the measurements of the couch, go to the model and measure the far outside wall and the wall next to the hall. That will help.

You'll figure it out. Trust me! =) GL with new flooring meeting!

  2. How about "floating" a couch or sectional? If it's not back against the wall you could have more seating in front of the tv and still not block the hallway. Of course you'd see the back of it from the kitchen but you could put a thin sofa table behind it with some decorative accents.

  3. Sorry to hear about your Grandpa...

Get the exact measurements of the room and then draw it on paper using something like 1/4" = 1ft...then you can make paper cutouts of sectionals and sofas and chairs and place them in the room to see how they look...good luck.

  5. I like the idea of the tv being between the two windows. The only reason I didn't pick that route was didn't want fireplace facing the deck so had to change the location. As for furniture having it on the far wall is a good idea you can always put a plant on corner of tv area.you can also put couch facing tv but not against the wall or blocking hallway just halfway or something making it a room. You will have fun decorating when your house is ready. :)
